Punctual working hours
The equipment is outdated, and the building occasionally develops cracks and leaks; rats are frequently seen.
The workforce is aging overall, newcomers cannot be retained, and long-timers like to pull rank. When problems arise, they simply spread their hands and say they don't know how to handle them, and the supervisor then awkwardly tells the newcomer to do it.
The systems are chaotic, with rule by individuals and unwritten rules prevailing. Meetings are just about passing the buck; whoever ends up with a supervisor who cannot pass it on has to work themselves to death.
Benefits are constantly being reduced or canceled. Aside from the year-end bonus, there is almost nothing left, and the days of high year-end bonuses were nearly a decade ago.
The building is on the verge of collapse; those who remain are either looking for an opportunity to leave or waiting for retirement.
Also, during my lunch-break nap, I dreamed that someone who had been hired replied to confirm their start date, but because upper management felt there were too many people, they changed their mind and told the person not to come after all.
