At first, they said the workplace was near Gongguan MRT Station. After I joined, about 2–3 months later they started asking people to work in Shenkeng, without providing any additional transportation subsidy. The position I applied for was administrative assistant, and the job responsibilities we discussed initially did not include sales work. However, I was subjected to all kinds of emotional manipulation and pressured into making cold calls for business development. From time to time, I was also sent to the assembly line to work as an operator. They expected an administrative assistant to produce sales results while simultaneously helping out in other departments. I had no idea what job I had actually applied for.

The company owner likes to recruit young, attractive women as his personal assistants. Women who are not considered as attractive are treated coldly. The owner even cheerfully shared with us that his method for screening administrative assistants on 104 Job Bank was to filter for “women” and then set the age to around 20. This was what he called “strict screening.” He also kept brainwashing us that we were extremely lucky to have been selected by him and that we were one in ten thousand. Thinking about it now makes me feel disgusted. Work assignments were completely unequal, and new employees could only silently endure it. If a new employee made even a minor mistake—such as mistyping a product name—they would be verbally humiliated in the office and subjected to all kinds of PUA tactics. Also, the owner of this company strongly dislikes employees “discussing” various company matters. Even unreasonable demands cannot be brought up for discussion with a supervisor. Apparently, you have to first bring in several million in sales before the supervisor is willing to help you handle the rights or benefits you should have had in the first place.

I sincerely advise anyone looking for an administrative assistant position to avoid this company. Even if you urgently need money, do not jump into this pit and waste your life. I recently saw that they have posted another opening for an administrative assistant, so I hope this helps everyone avoid being deceived 🙂
