Pros: I really can't think of any. Being able to watch a trashy office reality show counts as a pro, I guess. The boss comes from a Western-style background and isn't often in the office, so management is flexible.
This company has virtually no processes or systems, because the Finance Department is the biggest authority.
Whatever the Finance Department says is the process; whatever it says is the policy. Everything prioritizes the finance supervisor's mood, while the boss's position is effectively a figurehead.
Going to work means watching the supervisor arrive with a coffee in hand and an assistant clearing the way, as if she were walking down the red carpet, then sitting at her desk to do her makeup and eat breakfast. After finishing, she looks for someone to accompany her to smoke.
Going to work means listening to pointless content, embellishing things, using one's imagination to badmouth colleagues, while the sycophants around her chime in and fan the flames. The entire department could apply for jobs as melodrama screenwriters—or just go act in one directly.
You can also watch the supervisor switch facial expressions in an instant. When talking to the boss, she loves to act physically frail, constantly emphasizing that she feels unwell. As soon as the boss leaves the company, she becomes full of energy.
There is virtually zero productivity in the morning; she only starts assigning work or putting on a superficial show right before the end of the workday. Applying for overtime pay is easy, but the entire team has to stay until she leaves and ride the elevator together. Even going to the restroom requires finding someone to accompany her.
She lacks professionalism and judgment, loves to exaggerate, and loses control and loudly berates people when they do not empathize with her or when something does not fit her established way of thinking. Yet she blames others for being unable to communicate properly, then joins the boss and other colleagues in staging several pity-inducing dramas, pretending to be vulnerable, manipulating people, and spreading rumors.
She really likes to act as if everything she does is for the good of the company and that she always has the company's interests at heart.
I vaguely remember her often saying that the boss would be easier to deal with whenever he saw her wearing a skirt. Extremely disgusting.
She mocks the boss for hiring colleagues from unrelated industries, such as people who sold clothes or mobile phones, or people without relevant degrees or experience. When a colleague introduces someone to the company, she says that person got in through the back door, then talks about how capable her own husband is and how he never meets anyone who appreciates him.
When sales staff are out seeing clients and cannot drive her home, she complains that she has to wait too long and that this makes her work overtime.
Basically, if you do not follow her ideas and methods or serve her, she will target, spread rumors about, and smear you.
She often says that she is one of the company's founding veterans and that the boss cannot do without her overseeing everything. Whenever she feels things are not being done according to her ideas, she abuses her borrowed authority to change the processes and procedures.
She handles work matters according to her personal likes and dislikes.
She brings her sycophantic subordinates along to make trouble for departments she dislikes.
Whenever there is a benefit involved, she widely opens the back door and lets things through.
For colleagues she dislikes or who are highly capable, she finds every possible way to make things difficult, smear them, and drive them out. Previously, an accountant in the same department was inexplicably targeted simply for being attractive and highly capable.
And above all, never tell HR anything about what happens at the company.
It will immediately be taken and used to claim credit or betray you.
Then you will be bullied, isolated, and subjected to false rumors.
Almost every afternoon, she loves holding meaningless meetings. They are just for chatting and gossiping, and for getting the whole team to discuss how to cause trouble for other departments or colleagues she dislikes.
The pay is not high, yet they still demand experience.
I recommend that people who have never worked at another company apply; otherwise, you will find the way many things are handled illogical, while also having to consider the supervisor's mood.
If you want to continue working there, whatever you do, do not know how to dress well or wear skirts.
As soon as the boss says someone looks good or another colleague compliments them,
they will be made a target.
She says she values teamwork, but do not show off your abilities either, because that will highlight the supervisor's lack of professional expertise in finance and accounting. You will easily be called in for a talk, followed by the team members joining forces to force you out.
