台灣新進國際股份有限公司
Pros

The benefits are just the usual seasonal bonuses, year-end bonus, group insurance, and health checkups. The benefits package is more limited than that of the Japanese headquarters and is not aligned with it.

Cons

The company has a very “strict” traditional Japanese corporate culture. In my case, I worked on weekdays and studied design in my free time. I explained this situation to the company during the interview and even left my previous company to work here. Unfortunately, I was facing a period with a large number of midterm exam assignments and had to stay up late every day to complete them. The day after the company notified us about the morning meeting, I was late because I was still unfamiliar with the office environment and got locked in at the time-clock area and could not get out. Because I was late for the morning meeting, the company did not give me a chance as a new employee and fired me immediately. I was directly dismissed by the president of the Japanese headquarters. I had only been working there for seven days and was still getting familiar with the environment, but I was fired because of one mistake.

This company’s requirements are extremely “strict.” You must be a “zero-mistake” employee to withstand the pressure from the company and the president of the headquarters. The company’s style is that if you make even one mistake, you are “fired immediately,” with no discussion. If you are considering working for this company, make sure you are confident that you are a “zero-mistake” employee; otherwise, please think carefully before joining.

This company’s style when dismissing employees is to fire them immediately for any “mistake.” The president of the Japanese headquarters has more power than the company’s internal policies: whoever he wants to fire has to leave. The company will provide a certificate of involuntary resignation and severance pay in accordance with the Labor Standards Act, and will also ask you to sign an “Employment Contract Termination Agreement” to circumvent the requirements of the Labor Standards Act.

For anyone considering working at this company, when the company hires you, the formal appointment notice states that new employees must first undergo a three-month probationary period, that the period of service during probation will be combined and calculated after formal employment, and that an “Employment Agreement” will then be formally signed. In other words, after passing the probationary period, you will still sign an employment agreement, and you will also have to sign a labor contract every year. However, under Taiwanese law, a contract is a contract, and these arrangements are unfavorable to job seekers, so anyone considering working at this company should think carefully.

In addition, you will sign a confidentiality agreement on your first day of employment. Its clauses are also easy to violate inadvertently, which could cost you your job. The company has the right to dismiss you directly based on the contents specified in the confidentiality provisions, so anyone considering working at this company should think carefully.

Also, you can search for the keyword “新進商會” to find reviews of this company locally in Japan and see more detailed company reviews, because as a Japanese company operating in Taiwan, its genuine reviews cannot be found through local Taiwanese websites.
