Although I was clearly capable of doing the job, I was laid off after working for just one month.

Also, the company may have wanted to save on National Health Insurance premiums. Although I worked through the weekdays, the last day of that month happened to be a holiday, so I was not covered by National Health Insurance. As a result, even though I had completed a full month of work, I did not have National Health Insurance coverage. I don't know whether this was calculated in advance or merely a coincidence.
