Pros

I personally left after just one month. Don’t be foolishly lured in by the name “medical aesthetics”!

Although it operates under the name of medical aesthetics, the actual job is not at a medical aesthetics clinic; this is only one of its side businesses.

It is a typical exploitative employer, and it does not follow basic labor-law regulations when paying employees. It also fails to properly provide labor and health insurance, which is outrageous.

There are far too many unreasonable aspects to this company. I hope that after reading this review, you won’t suffer the same experience.

Company advantages:

1. The overall company atmosphere is good, and the colleagues are generally nice and okay.

2. There is a small private karaoke room available. (Although it operates under the name of medical aesthetics, it is actually located in a commercial office building on Huanan Road in Pingzhen.)

3. The boss occasionally treats everyone to afternoon tea and drinks; he is generous.

4. There is a small weekly meal subsidy of NT$1,000 (shared among everyone, not per person).

Cons

Disadvantages (there are a lot—read on)

1. The actual salary differs from what was initially offered. At first, they say that the salary is normal because you have no experience, using all kinds of sales tactics to trick people into joining.

2. There are tons of miscellaneous tasks, and the company’s systems are incomplete. You also have to help with administrative work because they cannot find anyone else.

3. There are no salary statements, and pay is not transparent. (Some colleagues said they were improperly deducted from; it’s unbelievable.)

4. Graphic designers have to purchase their own materials and asset libraries; the company pays for nothing. (It’s basically, “I don’t want to spend money, but I want the finished product to exceed a 100-point standard.”)

5. You have to edit commercial videos for the company. (You do both graphic design and editing, and you even have to install the software yourself. The company pays nothing while offering very low salaries.)

6. You frequently have to move heavy objects, so consider this carefully if you are not physically strong. (The main business is home appliances and has virtually nothing to do with medical aesthetics.)

7. There are no proper days off, and annual leave is seriously in violation of the Labor Standards Act. The boss is a typical workaholic: if he works, everyone works too, so you have almost no personal time.

8. The company is severely understaffed, and colleagues often need to work overtime to provide support. (They previously had a counter at A19, and employees also had to support that department-store business. It was truly speechless.)

9. The supervisor assigns personal errands on holidays. (For example, editing photos for photography projects he accepted privately.)

10. It is a typical family business. (Internally, basically everything is decided by one person, but that person is often not in the office, so a decision can take three days.)

11. There is no standard operating procedure. (It often happens that Person A says something can be done one way while Person B says it cannot.)

12. The supervisor’s communication style is: “Do whatever I say, and don’t have so many opinions.”
