Saying one thing and doing another—using nice words to lure you in, then telling you that things aren’t actually that easy here. It’s all just an illusion. One department manager has a somewhat problematic attitude: whenever someone is getting ready to leave work, they keep a close eye on them, and whenever there’s trash, they dump it on you, as if they think they’re the boss. Everything has to be done according to their steps; if you don’t follow what they say, they keep watching you.
They talk complete nonsense and are good at deceiving and bullying people, with absolutely no taste or ability to lead a team. I really wonder how someone this entrenched managed to become a manager.
Meetings are meaningless, serving entirely as a self-promotion show for this entrenched senior employee. They think everything is within easy reach, but there is no discussion based on data and no scientific or technological reasoning—only personal fantasies remain. My advice to newcomers considering joining is that, especially when the manager isn’t very capable, things will truly be miserable.
