1. Low pay, double deductions for being late, and you have to pay for your own three meals.
2. Employs child labor, using “you’re here to learn the craft” as an excuse to make you work overtime without overtime pay. The overtime work consists of temporary orders, and they do not teach you any skills. They give employees the minimum wage despite assigning more orders than can be completed.
3. No holiday pay at double rates. The three major festivals are hell. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, they make you work yourself to the bone and work overtime for free to make mooncakes, without overtime pay.
4. The owner is the chairman of the Yilan Baking Association. They use money to curry favor and collude with others.
5. They tell child workers to hide in the warehouse and stay silent when labor inspectors come to inspect.
6. When there are more orders than can be completed, there is practically no lunch break.
7. The environment is filthy and disorderly. Cake whipped-cream decorating is done at the back of the shop on the first floor; bread, cakes, and mooncakes are made on the second floor; and the owner’s home is on the third floor. Once, a baker scraped the sole of a shoe with a steel scraper, rinsed it with water, and then went back to making bread. Disgusting! I have also seen rats swimming in the sink!!!
8. There is an employee named Hang who engages in workplace bullying. They yell and scream at people all day long, and when called back to work temporarily, they take their anger out on child workers.
9. It was previously called Dian Xing Fang and Dian Xuan, and is now Taiwan Snow Mountain Cake.
10. If you are looking for an apprenticeship or a job, do not go to this place. It will only waste your life. The owner and the owner’s wife think treating employees this way is completely reasonable. This place is not worth sacrificing your life for.
11. Because the owner has substantial financial resources and connections, no one dares to write here.
12. In the baking and food industry, the more exploitative a shop is, the more you should avoid working there, because it is a waste of your life.
