The interviewer said that there is currently no overtime.
The night-shift allowance is only $100.
Salary increases happen slowly; you may have to wait a year.
This position is suitable for people who have time to slowly build up experience or who do not care as much about salary.
I interviewed for a full-time position at Showtimes Cinemas in northern Taiwan.
The job listing stated a monthly salary of $30,000–33,000.
Even though you have relevant experience, the interviewer is only willing to offer $30,000.
When I asked about the company’s salary-increase or promotion system, they responded that increasing salaries too quickly would be frightening.
The company’s senior management should really applaud this supervisor for saving the company money.
Near the end of the interview, the supervisor asked in an unpleasant tone, “Do you have any questions? Do you have any questions?”
(That’s right—they repeated it twice.)
Finally, they handed me a small note listing what to prepare if I got the job.
(The implication was to read it myself and not ask any more questions—they wanted to end the interview.)
Your cinema only wants to hire monkeys at low wages and operate with an arrogant, narrow-minded attitude from its interview supervisors.
Best of luck with your recruiting.
