1. Free Chinese meals provided
2. Forced by colleagues to sign up for overtime
3. Free accommodation
4. Very standardized management; basically, every day is the same. Come here to live a healthy, leisurely life.
1. The supervisor is a complete asshole.
2. You’ll be pressured into doing a ton of things that aren’t part of your job duties.
3. Nepotism is rampant. Supervisors get the cushy positions; the supervisors’ relatives get cushy positions too, while you’re stuck doing shitty work, such as moving heavy objects, sweeping floors, and other menial crap.
4. When managers pass the buck, it can ruin you. Managers shift responsibility for their mistakes onto frontline employees. There are endless meetings, the blame is always placed on someone else, and the supervisors and managers protect one another.
5. For performance bonuses, all employees have to fill out a named rating form and score everyone from worst to best. The people who always receive the 7,500 bonus are a certain group of managers and supervisors who take turns getting it.
6. There’s so much work that it can never be finished. The meaningless forms never end, and you have to submit a daily work-hours report before leaving work. In reality, everyone just makes up the entries to get it over with.
7. The factory’s interior air-conditioning system has been seriously leaking for ages and has never been properly repaired.
8. There are never any opportunities for promotion.
9. There’s an absurd amount of unreasonable bullshit and backstabbing among colleagues.
10. They haven’t held the year-end banquet for several years. What a lousy company.
11. I urge everyone to value your lives and stay away from this company. The overtime never ends, supervisors happily sit around scrolling on their phones, and when something goes wrong, frontline employees are the first to be sacrificed—while the supervisors make tens of thousands more than you. I’ll give you two words: “Run fast.”
