Interview process
A 40-ping office building divided into partitions,
with an estimated 5 employees,
three teams:
C# team, PLC team, SCADA team?.
There are 10 days of business trips per month,
going to factories,
connecting to machines on-site,
testing MES programs.
Business-trip locations include all of Taiwan, offshore islands, and overseas (less frequently).
Business trips mean you cannot leave work on time,
and overtime can be reported.
Some clients are traditional industries,
with relatively low standards.
If the work is not done well,
at the site,
the client directly starts yelling profanities.
If you travel frequently,
your shoes will get wet during the June rainy season,
you will be unbearably hot in July and August,
and freezing cold during cold spells in January and February.
The interviewers were one man and one woman;
the female interviewer was the hiring manager.
They had not read your résumé,
and did not let you introduce yourself.
They directly introduced the company as being engaged in factory automation,
MES,
with more than 10 years of history.
They rely on good service,
do not charge for modifications,
and have accumulated many clients.
Clients introduce other clients,
but as a result, it takes a long time to collect payment for a project,
and this has also led to accumulating many clients.
A project requires multiple people to divide up and collaborate on the work.
Each person handles many projects at the same time,
and must switch between tasks at any time.
There is no software engineering;
projects are in a chaotic state.
Whatever the client says, they change it;
often making changes over and over again,
and it takes a long time to receive payment.
What relatively large projects have you worked on?
What books have you been reading recently?
What direction would you like to develop in the future?
If many projects are underway simultaneously,
and many people are executing them at the same time,
how would you divide up the work
and arrange the schedule?
Do you have experience using software to control hardware?
Are you married? Do you need to pick up your children?
Expected compensation: 48K
(The interviewer seemed somewhat unhappy that it was set too high.)
