There are absolutely no advantages. I recommend not coming to this company just to pad your résumé; it’s a very shady company.
At the time, I didn’t look up this company’s reviews online and went straight to the interview. Basically, the company was seriously short-staffed, so almost anyone who went to an interview was hired. But really, don’t come to this company—you’ll only waste your time. Although I didn’t work there for very long, and it was an office job, I’m still listing the drawbacks.
1. Extremely high turnover: Regardless of the position, you often see people interviewing and leaving (or being dismissed) every day. I’ve worked at companies with high turnover before, but this is the first time I’ve seen one with such a frighteningly high turnover rate. The others seemed to be used to it and didn’t find it unusual—if someone leaves, just hire another person.
2. Strange clock-in/clock-out system: The end of the workday is 5:45 p.m., but you have to clock out at 6:00 p.m.; otherwise, HR counts it as a disciplinary offense. If you clock out after the designated time, you also have to explain why. The work is clearly impossible to finish, but they don’t pay overtime. The only reason you can write for clocking out late is “handling personal matters.” Could this be an attempt to circumvent the Labor Standards Act? No wonder the company has so many negative records.
3. Unreasonable disciplinary measures: Of all the companies I’ve worked for, this was probably the first with such an absurd set of rules. There are reprimands (NT$1,500 deducted), minor demerits (NT$3,000 deducted), and major demerits (NT$5,000 deducted). The supervisors above love managing employees through disciplinary measures. If you’re even slightly careless, you may be disciplined. Can this really retain employees? No wonder people keep coming and going. Couldn’t this be reported to the labor department?
4. Production performance: The company seems to do whatever comes to mind, without any prior planning, so the entire process is extremely chaotic. Everything is always rushed and urgent, and we’re chasing materials every day. The delivery dates on purchase orders are only for reference; the production department often demands earlier delivery dates, creating enormous pressure.
5. Product inspection: Suppliers deliver goods every day, but defective products are rejected almost every day. I don’t know whether quality control is too strict or the suppliers’ deliveries really have problems.
6. Efficiency: Basically, documents submitted for approval often have to wait a long time. Sometimes they still haven’t come back after two weeks. But there’s one thing that’s processed the fastest: the resignation form. That one is handled with the greatest efficiency and astonishing speed.
Conclusion: Many people say this is a very shady company. Many of the openings have been posted for years, and even highly experienced people can’t stay here because there’s not much to learn. Although the salary offered isn’t particularly low, you may not necessarily receive it. The company handles matters less quickly and decisively than a small company would. In short, if you’re thinking of coming to this company, think it over carefully.
