The most important point:
You will not be insured after joining. The boss’s wife says you have to wait until you get used to the job and become stable.
Even after one week on the job, they still will not insure you.
If you ask the boss for instructions about something, he will say that he does not have time to chat.
If you ask the boss about something important, he will say, “You can’t handle things yourself? Why did I hire you?”
There are many more drawbacks below. If you can see this, congratulations—you have avoided a landmine.
1. The boss and the boss’s wife only call employees “Miss”—“Hey, Miss.”
2. During the interview, they said the break was from 12:00 to 14:00. However, the boss’s wife really likes to give you work at 11:50 and pressure you to finish it before taking your lunch break. The boss thinks that lunch break = getting off work, and then you have to calculate the accounts and make the bank transfer at 15:00. In other words, they will never let you rest until 14:00.
3. The boss’s wife can get angry every day, and many times it is because her own viewpoint or logic is wrong.
4. Getting angry would be one thing, but the boss’s wife screams.
5. On every month when the date is a multiple of 5, the accounts have to be closed. Therefore, although the scheduled end time is 19:00, you often have to work until 20:00.
(This includes the noon period when you cannot take a break.)
6. The boss has many side businesses, and you need to do additional work for them.
7. When the boss’s wife gets angry, she says things like: “I get furious just seeing you. Do you know I can fire you?”
8. On the first and fifteenth days of each lunar month, on worship days, you still have to burn joss paper before you can take your lunch break. The boss’s wife will aggressively urge you to hurry up and buy the joss paper.
(Even when the work at hand is urgent.)
9. You need to buy the items for the boss’s wife’s worship rituals (such as offerings for an ancestor’s death anniversary or the Qingming Festival, including meat, poultry, and fruit), and you also have to pick up the boss’s prescriptions for chronic illnesses.
10. Cleaning duties rotate among everyone, about once or twice a week (but you have to mop, sweep, wipe the tables, clean the toilets, and take out the trash).
11. Even though you finish work at 19:00, the air conditioning has to be turned off at 17:00. You start work at 8:00, but the air conditioning cannot be turned on until 10:00.
12. There is too much to list. The above is enough to tell you to run.
