福風股份有限公司
Pros

1. The base salary is higher than for other positions of the same type.

2. The Taiwanese managers are communicative. If you have the ability, they will give you greater authority to get things done.

3. The company follows Taiwan’s Labor Standards Act; if you are dismissed, you will be paid severance according to the law.

Cons

1. It is an Italian company, so some administrative policies often take a lot of time to communicate and implement back and forth.

2. There are no bonuses for the three traditional festivals.

3. There may be no year-end bonus. At least before I joined, some people did not receive one.

4. Responsibilities are unclear. For example, scheduling the cleaning work should be handled by the personnel staff in the Administration Department, but when the person responsible for personnel said they could not arrange it, it became the responsibility of Production Control because there are more people on the production line.

As long as you are relatively capable, you may need to support various departments, such as Quality Control, Procurement, and Development...

4-1. There are no practical operating SOPs, or they may exist but are not properly followed. For example, when requisitioning ballpoint pens, sometimes you have to fill out a purchase requisition form, while other times you are told that no form is needed.

5. Before the Human Resources Department introduced a cloud management system, it would deduct leave incorrectly or make up nonsense about laws and regulations. For example, an employee who had worked for six months asked HR whether they were entitled to three days of annual leave. HR replied: “You have to work for one year to be entitled to the three days of annual leave granted after working for six months.” HR also said that they had already checked the relevant laws and regulations. (But everyone knew as soon as they heard it that HR was talking nonsense.)

6. Some long-term employees shirk their responsibilities. Many senior employees seem to be waiting for the company to go bankrupt so they can collect severance pay. For example, the HR employee mentioned above made mistakes such as issuing incorrect salaries and calculating the wrong Labor and Health Insurance salary brackets. These work errors were not isolated incidents—they could happen more than five or six times a year—but the company only issued verbal warnings and imposed no disciplinary action, so HR continued to pretend nothing was wrong. There was also a Quality Control employee who previously resigned, claiming to be seriously ill and unable to work, but in reality left a huge mess for others and walked away. After everyone finished dealing with it, that person recovered and returned. In short, there is one woman and one man whom you should pay particular attention to. They are especially good at shifting the blame to others, but as long as the work gets done, the manager basically does not interfere.

7. You may suddenly be called into the office in the afternoon and told that today is your last day, although you will receive severance pay.
