樂木集草本生技有限公司
Pros

You can learn the complete packaging and printing process, and the owner will take you to learn about and understand everything from plate making to hot stamping and other processing.

The design supervisor and other colleagues are very nice (very friendly).

It feels like a family, and you can feel how much they identify with the brand.

Cons

There was nothing unusual during the application interview, and the online reviews were all very good.

Before starting work, I bought books about traditional Chinese medicine and carefully read about the traditional Chinese medicine teas and foot baths sold on their company website.

I was originally scheduled to start work on September 1, 2023 (I said during the interview that I could start at any time).

However, the owner asked me to go in on August 23, 2023, to take over from a departing employee.

(It felt like they were in a hurry to arrange the handover. On the phone, the owner even said they were worried that if the handover was not clear, it would be difficult for me to work afterward. I thought that was reasonable, so I went in early.)

The owner said they would calculate my pay based on the monthly salary and prorate it for those few days in August,

but said that labor and health insurance would only be provided starting in September.

After I went there, the colleague handing over the work and the other colleagues were all very nice. However, the colleague also revealed that certain tasks, such as ordering paper, had originally been handled by the owner but were later assigned to her as well...

There was a great deal of information to hand over. I would have to follow up with vendors for almost every stage of the printing process (it was not just printing; it covered everything from plate making to hot stamping). At the same time, I would also have to create packaging designs, write posts for the brand’s social media page, and support the production of advertising graphics.

For someone like me who is not very good at expressing myself and communicating with vendors, this job was 80% communication skills and 20% design skills.

After evaluating it from various angles, I decided not to take the job.

On August 24, I decided to cut my losses promptly. I told the owner’s business partner—the design supervisor—that I wanted to leave, and saved the files I had created that day on her desktop.

After work, my colleagues still felt it was a pity. I sincerely feel that this group of colleagues was really wonderful, but unfortunately I truly could not handle the job duties.

Not long after I left work, the owner called and began trying to persuade me to stay. When that did not work, the owner began saying:

“ You were selected by all of our colleagues.”

“Your decision has disappointed me. You are different from how you were during the interview.”

“I won’t allow you to give up.”

“What about the person who handed over so much work to you over these past few days?”

“Otherwise, you don’t have to handle communication with vendors. We’ll find someone to support you, and you can focus on the graphic design work for now.”

They began using all kinds of PUA tactics, saying they would reassign me to graphic design work the following week.

I said I would think about it, but that same day I still sent the owner a long LINE message saying that I was giving up and thanking them.

And then? There was no follow-up.

Although I only worked for two days, August 23–24,

they showed no intention whatsoever of transferring those two days’ wages to me.

Today, September 9, I sent another LINE message to the owner of 樂X集 asking when they would transfer the money to me. As before, the message was neither read nor answered...

(On my first day, I had already submitted a copy of my bank account information, so there is no way they do not have my account number.)

Their actions disappointed me,

and I am also disappointed in this brand.

I have no evidence that I ever worked there.

They also told me not to clock in on those two days.

I can only treat this as a lesson learned.
