Nanshan has all the advantages typically associated with a large company.
1. Stable employment: At the head office, it is not uncommon for employees to receive awards for 20 or 30 years of service.
2. Generous compensation: 13.5 months of fixed salary, plus performance bonuses.
3. It is one of Taiwan's top 100 companies.
4. The benefits are also quite good.
It also has all the disadvantages typically associated with a large company.
1. Simple tasks are made complicated, and the procedures are extremely rigid. For example, when a minor flaw occurs, instead of reviewing which parts of the original process need improvement, additional process steps are added. This leads to an enormous number of trivial tasks and endless overtime.
2. Digitalization is progressing very slowly. To comply with certain digital processes, even more manual work has been added.
3. Nanshan is a large company with a lot at stake, so managers are very afraid of making mistakes and prefer to stick to the old ways.
4. Each manager has different preferences. If your project has to pass through many managers, it is entirely normal for it to be completely overturned and redone two or three times.
5. Whether you are allowed to report overtime depends on which manager you happen to work with.
