Company policies often like to mess with employees. For example, they claim to be considerate of employees’ hardships traveling home for the Lunar New Year by giving them an extra day off at the start of their annual leave, but it is actually deducted from your vacation days. Or, when a client is coming, they may suddenly take back your parking space and tell you to park outside, even though the nearest parking lot is more than a 30-minute walk from the company. Internally, things are basically governed by personal relationships; if you have a good relationship with the people above you, life is easier.
