The office is located in the Xinyi District, inside the Taipei World Trade Center building.
Although the position is officially listed as reception after joining, in reality you are essentially the boss’s food and beverage secretary.
The boss has an executive assistant, who simply sits beside the boss typing on a computer.
During the interview, they only said that you would need to help place food and drinks on a tray when the boss had guests.
After joining, whenever employees ate lunch in the office, you had to wash every employee’s bowls, plates, utensils, and pots. The female supervisors and the boss’s female executive assistant would ask you to cut fruit for the boss, prepare enzyme drinks, and make coffee for the boss.
There was no fixed lunch break; it depended on when the boss ate. Because the boss is Christian, everyone was forced to pray together before meals, and everyone had to eat together. The boss loved making unfunny jokes.
The job duties did not match those of a typical administrative receptionist, and there was no opportunity for an internal transfer because the boss had an executive assistant and three or four female supervisors who paid special attention to the boss.
It was impossible to advance to a secretary position
because the boss had an executive assistant and three or four female supervisors who paid special attention to the boss.
I escaped after working there for one month.
You could not take a break at all during lunch.
Whenever the boss wanted something done, you had to prepare it for him to eat or drink immediately.
