There were few colleagues, so there was no infighting.
On my first day, I was thrown straight into learning while doing the work. Two people taught me about the platforms they handled, but both senior colleagues resigned the next day. I had to rely on their notes, figure things out by looking at screenshots, and seek help on my own. On my second day, I was already handling the company's accounts.
I applied for an e-commerce operations and marketing assistant position. When I asked the two senior colleagues why they were leaving, one told me that although she was not on a responsibility-based salary, she had inexplicably also been assigned the role of platform business assistant and was required to be on call even on holidays. The other told me that the company had originally given her the workload of two people, saying it would later hire someone to share the workload. The supervisor delayed hiring, so she and the other senior colleague decided to leave. What arrived instead was me, the unlucky person. She had been doing the work of two people, and so had the other colleague, which meant I suddenly had to take over the work originally done by four people.
On the third day, I was sent straight into battle. All I could do was constantly apologize to my colleagues and users because I did not understand anything. I was dumbfounded. Overtime also required the supervisor's approval, and there was no way to receive overtime pay.
Before I had even learned anything properly, I was already expected to handle the accounts, listing products and making changes in both the front and back ends, price changes, shipment inspection and picking, changes on marketing platforms, and serving as the business assistant representative for various platforms, among other things. When I submitted my resignation, the supervisor even said that they had not simply left me to fend for myself. I was speechless. All I can say is that having few people means there is little conflict, but in practice one person is used to do the work of many. Together with the business assistant duties, it effectively becomes a responsibility-based position, so think carefully before joining.
