All of my colleagues are incredibly kind.
There are so many things that I don't even know where to begin...
1. Lots of business, too few people
The boss is extremely enthusiastic about winning bids and expanding the business. However, they never consider how many additional people are needed to support the expansion, what kind of talent to look for, or how to allocate manpower. As a result, everyone has more work than they can finish every day, and the following situations have become routine at the company:
Employees work overtime almost every day.
.
Things that should have been planned and started six months or even a year earlier are often not finished until just a few hours before the deadline. Sometimes they are delayed constantly, leaving the progress far behind schedule.
.
Employees cannot handle the workload. When a project eventually falls apart, the boss starts robbing Peter to pay Paul. As a result, things that should have nothing to do with one's job duties somehow land on one's shoulders.
.
Over time, the excessive and exhausting working hours cause employees to get sick every few days.
What's frightening is that the boss not only does not consider this a problem, but also thinks it is normal for employees not to be able to finish their work. Just as the boss works all year round, employees are expected to pour their blood, sweat, and heart into their jobs—that is supposedly what constitutes a good work attitude.
2. Likes hiring newcomers, but doesn't train them
The company often hires recent graduates. But after hiring them, it does not develop or train them, because the supervisors are too busy to pay attention to anyone. The boss only tells employees to proactively ask senior colleagues how to do things. However, newcomers have limited experience, and even when they ask questions, they may not be able to articulate them clearly or get to the heart of the matter. In the end, they are essentially left to fend for themselves, somehow produce work that does not meet the boss's expectations, and then get scolded.
3. The boss is really something
The boss often suddenly assigns employees temporary tasks and demands that they be completed within a short time. But these assignments are often abandoned shortly after work begins, rendering all the effort pointless.
The boss often works without a plan and changes directions on a whim. Even the date and agenda of the company's monthly meeting can be announced suddenly only a few days beforehand. At the same time, the boss particularly enjoys sending threatening messages during employees' vacations and late at night, forcing them to handle work matters during their time off.
4. An administrative and accounting black hole
The company is so understaffed that there are not enough people handling administration and accounting. Combined with the cumbersome reimbursement system and the great distance between the offices of different departments, it is routine for the accountant to forget to process payments, lose employees' reimbursement documents, or fail to pay on time. Employees often have to bear the brunt of suppliers' anger and demands.
Although the company runs retail stores, its petty-cash system is extremely chaotic. Employees are constantly required to pay out of pocket. After submitting their expense reports, they have no idea when they will receive reimbursement, because the administrative and accounting staff process documents very slowly and are difficult to reach. They never reply to text messages; you can only communicate with them by phone or in person.
5. Besides that...
The boss has poor hygiene habits and often leaves the environment dirty and untidy. The boss's car is also constantly parked illegally on the roadside.
Finally, anyone hoping to accumulate experience, learn skills, or work at their own pace should absolutely stay away. This is not a place to remain for long.
