Everything is carried out in accordance with the Labor Standards Act, including overtime pay.
1. The boss has the final say on bonuses. If one is given, great; if not, don't expect one.
2. When the boss paints a rosy picture, just listen and don't take it too seriously. Usually, I've only heard about it and never seen it happen.
3. Learn how to coast. Don't proactively take on too many tasks. The capable get overworked while the incapable coast. Learn to play dumb, and life will be easier.
4. The same few people are always the ones doing the work. The people who work are always the ones being watched, while those who do nothing never have any problems.
5. The overseas plants have a high turnover rate and are basically training grounds for newcomers. You often have to travel abroad to provide support, but the travel allowance is only USD 8 per day, even though the workload is crushing.
6. As long as you don't rank at the bottom in the performance evaluation, you're fine. But don't aim for first place either—just be an ordinary person.
7. The boss gets emotional in meetings and is often unreasonable and authoritarian. Just go along with it.
8. Senior managers actually have no decision-making power either. They simply carry out the boss's instructions, whether reasonable or not, effectively forcing the people below them to work themselves to death.
9. There are an enormous number of meetings—they're basically just a bunch of managers putting on a show. Afterward, everything gets dumped on the capable people to handle.
10. The managers all make decisions based solely on reports, so reports have to be written strategically. With some matters, whoever reports them is the one who gets into trouble.
