The office space is large.

This was a North American business unit. I had done quite a bit of research and went to the interview with fairly high expectations.

The manager in the first interview was friendly and willing to share, but inadvertently revealed issues of management focusing on people rather than matters during meetings and on a frequent basis.

Before the second interview, I was asked to prepare a product- and market-related PowerPoint presentation to give directly to the general manager. During the meeting, I experienced firsthand what had been hinted at in the first interview: the boss was extremely impatient, clearly poor at managing emotions, and often interrupted before I had finished speaking. Overall, I felt disrespected throughout the conversation and interaction (which also gave me a sense of what the days ahead would be like if I joined).

Although the office was large, the atmosphere was very cold. After carefully observing the overall environment from downstairs to upstairs, I noticed that colleagues had almost no conversation or interaction with one another.

Oh, one more thing: the company requires employees to "bring their own laptop," without mentioning this in advance.

In the end, I received the offer I wanted from the general manager (52K), but I turned down the position when HR notified me the next day.

I later also learned indirectly that the company has a high turnover rate, and many positions are posted year-round.
