Family business—you can learn more.
Unfortunately, you won't earn more.
I recommend interviewing with the lady boss. The person who interviewed me that day was not the lady boss herself, because something major had happened in their family. If you vaguely know that this is the situation, I recommend not joining this company; they have an overwhelming amount of private family-related drama.
Joining was like a disaster. There is an older woman there (李X玲's), who is truly an extremely frightening, despicable, and hateful person. She is extremely reluctant to pay employees their salaries. Every employee's pay is transferred into their account in the middle of the night; no one is exempt. How much interest could keeping it for one extra day possibly earn? You devote yourself to the company and this is the return you get. All I can say is that it feels terrible. On top of that, if you make a mistake, she scrutinizes you as if it were 100 times more serious and berates you until you're treated worse than a dog. The lady boss's younger sister was subjected to this kind of emotional abuse for more than two months, then took some time off and said she was physically unwell. By emotional abuse, I mean using an extremely harsh tone to say things like: “I’m begging you to remember this step; I’ve already explained it many times,” “If you don’t know, you have to ask—even if I’m busy, it’s okay to ask” (but then she was also scolded for asking when the boss was busy), and “Why did you still get it wrong?” (even though the boss herself often made mistakes).
The lady boss is often not at the company. Most of the time, she is having afternoon tea with friends, shopping, or handling her own family matters (there are all kinds of problems in that family). She acts ridiculously busy to make everyone think she is busy! She wants to hire someone at a low salary to help share her workload, but honestly, other than people who live nearby, who would accept such a low wage? Isn't that right?
They started recruiting on the 1111 job bank in April 2023. All I can say is that whoever joins will be unlucky! I guarantee you will want to leave before you've even worked a month! They recruit a full-time employee for NT$26,400, with working hours of 8.5 hours a day (9:00–18:30), and then expect you to know how to do everything. Isn't that grounds for reporting them?
There is a lot of work: moving fabric, packing goods, handling so many documents and records, and managing inventory, while she enjoys a salary of NT$45,000. That's really unfair.
Don't mention that you know marketing or media when applying to this company, because they want to invite you to do their marketing for free. This was not mentioned during the interview. When I asked how the salary would be calculated if I also did this work, the lady boss reluctantly—and excessively—said, “In the future, discussions about copywriting after work for up to half an hour won't count as overtime; there is a flexible 30-minute allowance.” When you hear something like that, there's no need to argue or get angry—just resign directly. It is truly heartbreaking.
During election periods, packing can continue until 8 or 9 p.m. It is advisable to ask whether overtime pay is included; after three months of working like this, your body may not be able to take it (you could even strain your lower back).
The lady boss loves telling her own friends about employees' problems and complaints, and most of her friends also have mental issues. One of them even came to tell me that I should help the lady boss more. I thought to myself: I had not failed to help—in fact, I was the one who helped the most. It was the lady boss who treated her employees harshly!
This harshness means that once she has used you, she wants to get rid of you, preferably through voluntary resignation, because they do not want to pay severance. Boss Lady Li will constantly make things difficult for you, berate you, and speak to you in an extremely unpleasant tone.
Finally, to add: Boss Lady Li will owe employees wages. I asked a family member to come help for one day during the busiest period. It was originally agreed that they would be paid hourly, but what happened? The next day, she changed it to NT$1,000 for the whole day! Wow, wow, wow! How exploitative! Who would work for NT$1,000 a day? A crazy woman spouting crazy talk—and there was no labor insurance coverage that day either! She also takes things out of context and tells all the vendors throughout Dihua Street who are cooperating with Yongquanlong about your affairs in order to defame you. She is an utterly despicable woman.
If, after reading this, you still plan to interview or apply, all I can say is: “Good luck.”
