Lunch is provided. If you arrive at the restaurant too late, there may be nothing left to eat.
There is a lunch break, but occasionally it is taken up by work matters.
Health checkups are provided.
There is a parking lot, making parking convenient. There are bonuses and gift vouchers given on the three major festivals.
There have been no employee trips due to the pandemic, but travel subsidies are provided.
There are occasional employee gatherings, as well as year-end parties.
The supervisor has a very strange temper—one moment saying something is acceptable, and the next saying it is not.
Every company may have a few employees who bypass their direct managers to curry favor with senior executives, while the senior executives indulge this behavior instead of stopping it.
Moreover, the company has many bad practices. When a supervisor moves house, subordinates are even teased about not giving a little something. The salary is not particularly high, yet they still expect subordinates to give gifts; this is questionable.
When the end of the workday arrives, employees are told to clock out first and then continue working. These are facts that some companies will not make public. It is also possible not to clock out and report overtime, but applying for overtime pay leads to endless nagging and hassle.
Everyone wants to get off work early. Who wants to work overtime?
A common violation of labor laws is that, after working hours or on holidays, supervisors use LINE, WeChat, email, or other forms of communication to assign work to subordinates. If you do not follow through, you may even be scolded and told that you lack a sense of responsibility.
The company holds strange competitions, supposedly to motivate employee cohesion or drive. If you come in first, the supervisor may even verbally bully you with sarcastic remarks about why you are not treating everyone. Salaries are not high, so why should you have to treat everyone? Is doing your job properly at the company not already what you are supposed to do? The supervisors themselves behave this way, yet still expect subordinates to devote themselves fully? None of the supervisors acts like a supervisor……
Employees are expected to pay out of their own pockets for employee gatherings? If a coworker you barely know has a baby, are you still expected to give a red envelope to someone you are not close to? So being single is a crime? If you do not have children, you have to pay? If you do not have a mortgage, are you supposed to treat everyone?
The company’s systems are unbelievably terrible, and management still says to make do with them if they cannot be fixed……
Working here will leave you with all sorts of health problems.
If reporting problems to the company were useful, I would not be leaving this comment here. Understand?
