Does being allowed to wear slippers in the office count?
Office
1. Low salary; the pay is not commensurate with the work.
2. No overtime pay. The company says that (one Japanese and one Taiwanese employee each) can exchange it for compensatory leave, but it’s available in theory only: )
3. Beware of workplace PUA by Taiwanese managers; it can be psychologically damaging.
4. Beware of the “regional manager,” who has unchecked power over certain stores, and the “Japanese product development manager,” who looks down on people.
5. Double standards, scheming, and a tendency to undermine others.
