Pros

1. On-time working hours (because the finance department doesn’t want to deal with overtime pay)

2. Good relationships with coworkers (employees outside that family)

Cons

1. This company is a family business, and it really treats anyone outside the family as an outsider.

2. The company has low pay, no benefits, and no year-end bonus. If you take annual leave, they will even deduct from the already pitifully small work bonus. If you take several consecutive days off during a holiday period, they deduct the bonus for each day (e.g., if the Chinese New Year holiday lasts 10 days and you take leave for n consecutive days before or after it, they will deduct your bonus for 10+n days). It’s completely absurd......

3. The family members all have explosive tempers. I’ve never seen them speak nicely to anyone. The boss is even worse, treating everyone with the attitude of “I pay your salary, so I’m the biggest boss here.”

4. At every meeting, the boss says he is there to help everyone solve problems, but nine times out of ten, he is the one with the most problems. The phrases most often on his lips are: “I don’t remember” and “I don’t know.” If a boss can know nothing in response to every question, then everyone can be a boss, right?

5. When there is a long holiday, salaries are delayed (originally paid on the 15th, but postponed to the 20th).

6. The finance person (one of the family members) is unbelievably stingy. Everyone has to conserve daily necessities such as toilet paper and dish soap, and when they run out, it takes an extremely long time for them to buy more.

7. Applying for petty cash does not mean the company directly pays the expense. Employees have to pay out of pocket first and then apply to the company for petty cash reimbursement. It is not reimbursed immediately either: after approval, every Monday they reimburse expenses applied for between the previous Monday and Friday before noon. If you apply in the afternoon, you have to wait until the Monday after next...... Salaries are paid late, yet employees still have to cover company expenses—talk about stingy.

8. Employee labor and health insurance salaries are underreported, so payment in lieu of annual leave is calculated using the minimum wage. However, lateness or leave deductions are calculated based on your actual salary (e.g., if your salary is 28,000, they use 28,000 to calculate the hours of leave you took and deduct accordingly, but payment in lieu of annual leave is calculated using the minimum wage of 26,000).

In short, if you enjoy being yelled at for no reason, working for a company with no benefits, and receiving your salary late, you’re welcome to join~
