實盈光電股份有限公司
Pros

Currently, only “Shiying Co., Ltd.” exists; Shiying Optoelectronics no longer exists.

Pros:

1. The company complies with the basic requirements of the Labor Standards Act.

2. The business manager is a very good person, focuses on the issue rather than the individual, and can distinguish right from wrong.

3. The executive assistant is also a very good person.

However, once the company’s interests are involved, the two people above can only stand on the company’s side. I understand, but this can only disappoint people with a conscience.

Cons

*Salary:

After joining, I discovered that the salary discussed included all bonuses. The base salary was very low, with other items being added to inflate it (including the perfect-attendance bonus).

*Hardware equipment:

The company computers were extremely poor. The computer monitors were the old square type, and I remember the highest resolution was only around 800p(?). The computer system was still running Windows XP. There were countless problems. To access a client’s system, we first had to connect remotely before we could work, so at the beginning I constantly had to ask ㄗㄒㄖㄩ for assistance, but they would keep ㄅㄇㄅㄔㄉㄡㄈㄨ. Since I was a new employee, I did not dare to speak up because I was afraid of being targeted and given trouble. Therefore, I have no evidence or record of filing a complaint, although I did complain to family and friends.

During that period, I repeatedly applied for hardware equipment and requested help, but nothing worked. In the end, I gave up. Therefore, for the quality and efficiency of my work—and to protect my eyes—I had to buy a Full HD monitor myself and install additional RAM, which somewhat alleviated the hardware problems. (However, with my Full HD monitor running on Windows XP, my eyes were still under considerable strain, because when the resolution was set above 1400, all the text became blurry.)

*Other benefits:

There are gift money or gift boxes for the three major festivals, but the company does not provide coffee or a snack cabinet. Very occasionally, the company orders drinks for everyone, and sometimes employees buy small snacks to share.

*Care for new employees:

A very nice senior employee was assigned to train me. At the beginning, the executive assistant and manager also helped prepare basic stationery and organize my workstation. However, I had to buy all other stationery myself. I also asked whether I could apply for supplies, but they said no one applied, so I bought a large amount myself. Only later did I discover that the company had old stationery items available for use.

However, the company has absolutely no new-employee support system. When employees place group orders, they never ask you; when ordering lunch boxes, they only ask the same fixed group of people; and for snacks and drinks offered during worship ceremonies, you can only choose what is left over. Later, a tall, handsome male employee joined and was quite favored by the aunties.

*Retired employee rehired:

The company’s customs-affairs employee who retired and was rehired was very fond of bullying new employees (if their work overlapped) and spreading baseless gossip (including gossip involving the aunties she was close to). The business manager has confirmed that this situation has existed for more than 20 years. She repeatedly apologized to me and said that they had continued educating this employee and that she had changed a lot. However, the bullying and baseless gossip behind the scenes continued to happen again and again, especially out of the public eye.

The first time I was yelled at by the customs-affairs employee was while a senior employee was teaching me how to handle shipments. The person training me sent an incorrect email, and within less than two or three minutes (I think), this customs-affairs employee shouted my full name across the entire office: “XXX! You did it wrong!”

After that, incidents of this kind continued to occur. Starting in May, I frequently had nightmares because of this customs-affairs employee. I also reported to the executive assistant in May that I was having nightmares because of this employee. (At the time, I told her because I regarded the executive assistant as my friend. Unfortunately, she was ultimately a company employee, and afterward the company collectively downplayed and officially denied the facts of the ㄅㄚㄌ一ㄥ incident.)

*Handover from the employee surnamed Lei:

(My work attitude and learning ability were recognized and praised by everyone who “saw them firsthand.” Notes, electronic files, paper documents, and emails can all serve as proof.)

At the end of September, upper management arranged for a new employee who lacked knowledge and professional ability and was arrogant and domineering to hand over to me extremely inadequate handover materials covering 24 accounts. The business manager herself said several times that she was furious about this matter.

From the very beginning of the handover, she refused to give me the purchase orders. I asked her to provide them, and she said, “What do you need those for?” I said, “The order information is all on them.” She said, “I’ve already entered everything into the ERP. Just look at the ERP.” I said, “But I still need the purchase orders. Electronic or paper copies are both fine.” She said, “Then you’ll have to wait for me. I’m busy right now.” I asked, “How long do I have to wait?” She said, “I don’t know.” I said, “I need a timeframe.” She said, “A week or two.”

During that period, there was a shipment for which the ERP system did not contain the information needed for shipping (and the ERP system also contained a great deal of incorrect information). She was also on leave that day, so I could only ask the business department to obtain the required shipping information from the client.

After repeatedly appealing to and coordinating with upper management, the handover was ultimately reduced to 20 clients, with separate, one-time handover sessions with that colleague. However, if I had questions afterward, the person handing over the work would become impatient and demand that I “organize the questions before asking her” and “schedule a time before asking her.” Sometimes, however, cases were already in progress, and many questions were only discovered while the work was underway, which placed me under enormous pressure. At times, when I asked again because the handover had not been complete, the person surnamed Lei would say, “That doesn’t make sense—I already handed that over to you.” She refused to provide examples and the handover information I needed, and for a long time used oppressive language that caused me enormous pressure and grievance. This also gave the customs-affairs employee more opportunities to publicly accuse me, baselessly and without distinguishing right from wrong.

*Subsequent situation:

The situation now is that I had been bullied by specific employees for more than seven months. I finally could not endure it any longer and filed an internal complaint, but the customs-affairs employee and her auntie friends collectively insulted me with statements such as, “Oh—kindness repaid by being bitten by a dog,” “You’re just being treated like a dog to bite,” and “Don’t insult dogs; dogs are kinder than he is.” I could no longer tolerate it.

Although I filed an internal complaint with the company, the company has continually tried to rationalize and minimize the situation, repeatedly emphasizing, “This is only your feeling; everyone’s feelings are different.” This caused further psychological and physical trauma lasting more than eight months. At the final meeting, the only result was that the female supervisor surnamed Zeng, who handled both personnel and legal affairs, unexpectedly admitted that they had collectively called me a “dog.” When I asked her to delete the recording and give me a copy of the recording, she changed her story and said that she had not admitted anything. In the end, the company only issued me an official notice stating that it had “found no workplace bullying.”

*Points to note:

If you want to join, you “must have” experience and a foundation in international trade, sales, or sales assistance before coming in. (I changed careers, so I had no experience at all.) Otherwise, you may also be bullied by the customs-affairs employee. (I think she may behave better after this incident.) However, the group of aunties still loves to talk recklessly, gossip, and make things up behind people’s backs. (The business manager has confirmed all of this, and I have evidence.) In particular, if you are not the same type of person as them and your work brings you into contact with them, they will target you. Otherwise, if you obediently let them manipulate you, you may coexist peacefully—or you can be a handsome man. If you do not meet the above conditions, or if you are not very demanding about work quality, you can come here to coast until retirement.

Just writing this review made my palms sweat so much that water dripped from them, and caused numbness in my brainstem and fingertips.

These are all symptoms of trauma, but the company refuses to acknowledge any of them...

Because the company’s subsequent handling has been truly reprehensible, I am currently seeking outside help.

But the process has been extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely exhausting, both physically and mentally...

I hope fairness and justice will ultimately prevail... Otherwise... I am still thinking about what to do...
