The work environment is fairly comfortable. Although it’s in a factory-office setting, it is separated from the warehouse.
The main job is filming product marketing videos. The company primarily sells clothes, followed by some China-made 3C products.
There is a studio, but the cameras used for filming are quite ordinary. For some situational marketing videos, I also had to find the locations myself. Otherwise, I had to ask company employees to act in them.
The most speechless part was that the boss may simply dislike you and fire you after two months. It happened very suddenly, without any notice. It was completely baffling: “I feel that the style of the videos you make doesn’t really fit the feel of our company, so you can work until this afternoon.” He only sent this to me in a private message. It was truly damn sudden and bizarre. The funny thing was that I was still rushing to finish a video for the company, and I instantly stopped working after that. It felt very insulting because, despite making so many videos before, they never told me what needed to be improved or adjusted. They approved every video for publication themselves, and my coworkers also felt that I hadn’t done a bad job. So what exactly was the problem? I didn’t particularly want to ask at the time. After all, they had fired me using such a far-fetched excuse, so I figured he probably just disliked me.
The junior supervisor in the audiovisual department was also completely confused when I was fired. He also felt that firing me directly without informing him was extremely disrespectful.
In short, that afternoon I immediately packed up my things and left. I also added some coworkers on Instagram and made friends with them, haha!
Then, after I was fired, a bunch of people also resigned. It looks like this company really is a disaster.
