Good colleagues help each other; the bad ones, well...
You can learn how to communicate with government agencies and get to know some fairly decent officials, external scholars, and people from industry.
The department responsible for the regulatory adaptation plan isn’t exactly law-abiding. Just looking at labor-management issues, they require you to respond on LINE on weekends, and although the official end of the workday is 5:30 p.m., you’ll usually be kept late. The salary is in the low 30,000s, but when I checked, the insured salary amount was NT$42,000. Of course, they have a set of talking points to explain it, haha.
Based on the departments I’ve worked in, the quality of senior management is mediocre. There aren’t many truly capable people; most are long-serving old-timers who rely on junior employees or external experts to produce content. Overall, it’s not very professional.
