Pros

1. The interview was very pleasant.

2. The environment was bright and clean.

Cons

1. There was a lot of information to fill out during the interview, and I even had to take an English test.

2. Work started at 8:30 a.m., with a one-and-a-half-hour lunch break. This may vary from person to person, but for me, it was a drawback.

3. I joined the company in a certain month, and at the end of that month, I was diagnosed with COVID-19. I then received a call from my supervisor saying that I was being laid off, on the grounds that my performance had not met expectations. That said, I really did not like the job and found the work very boring, so I felt unmotivated every day.

Overall, what left me speechless was that the company fired me at such a sensitive time. During the call, my supervisor also said they would give me a little extra money (severance pay?). The so-called “extra” was calculated according to the formula stipulated by the Labor Standards Act and amounted to only a little over 1,000. They also said they would keep me enrolled in labor insurance for another week before helping me cancel it. It was quite obvious that they were trying to avoid giving me any grounds to hold them accountable. Even though I had been laid off, my employment certificate stated that I had resigned, which meant I would be unable to apply for government assistance. When I asked Human Resources whether they could provide a certificate of involuntary termination, they also gave me an evasive answer. I even had to proactively ask for my pay stub before they would give it to me.

I feel that this company is just very stingy while trying to pretend to be generous.
