The advantage is that this company’s office in Neihu is very beautiful.
The disadvantage is that you cannot learn anything at this company. Personally, I feel that this company is rather empty in terms of business. Why do I say that? The owner is Lin Guangqing, a Taiwanese businessman based in mainland China. He has a ceramic factory in Dongguan, China, whose biggest customer is Starbucks in the United States, for which he makes ceramic mugs. In other words, Lin Guangqing became wealthy through Starbucks. After he grew older, perhaps to show off his wealth or perhaps because of a nouveau riche mentality, he bought an office in Neihu and established Xiezhong International Co., Ltd. He also forcibly set up a so-called Lin Family Ancestral Residence Arts and Cultural Space in a Hakka village in Miaoli. But Lin Guangqing is a Hoklo person—could he really be trying to promote Hoklo culture in a Hakka village? I do not understand that point. Returning to the main topic, because Lin Guangqing’s business is in ceramics and the factory is in mainland China, my impression from working at Xiezhong’s Neihu company in Taiwan was that it was empty—there was practically nothing there. It simply shipped products from the Dongguan factory to Taiwan for sale, and even then, sales were not very good. Simply put, it is not that there is anything wrong with Lin Guangqing establishing a company in Taiwan; rather, the Xiezhong company he established in Taiwan has never managed to establish a viable business model. Therefore, it depends on the worker’s mindset. If you are only thinking about earning a salary and do not care about the company’s prospects, this is a company you could join. But if you want to gain professional experience in the industry and hope to work for a company with prospects, you should think carefully before joining this company.
