財團法人台灣敦睦聯誼會所屬作業組織圓山大飯店
Pros

The work done internally is actually quite varied: hosting livestreams, participating in three travel fairs a year, negotiating cross-industry collaborations, and so on.

Currently, the marketing at the Grand Hotel mainly focuses on owned media, especially its Facebook fan page. The interviewer also said that management places great importance on copywriting and likes people who can come up with slogans, but I feel that what they actually need is just a copywriter/editor.

Cons

Interview process:

·The main interviewer was the marketing manager. When asked a question, she would go around in circles and talk about many trivial details without really getting to the point, and she also did not listen much to what others had to say.

·The PR and marketing department has no marketing budget at all; everything is based on reciprocal collaborations. What they value most is simply meals and accommodation. They have not transformed the Grand Hotel or broadened their marketing perspective by absorbing new ideas.

·Whenever I proposed an idea or tried to share experiences and exchange views, the marketing manager would rebut me before I had finished speaking, saying, “We’ve done this before. You don’t seem to understand us very well.” It felt disrespectful. They only do what they consider to be “marketing,” and believe that having done something means it counts as “promotion.”

·The manager did not look at the proposal or copywriting samples I brought—not even flipping through them or mentioning them—showing no genuine desire to understand the candidate’s strengths and areas of expertise.
