At the beginning of the interview, the head of the Information Department said that you should pay attention to your body shape, as their company also pays attention to employees’ body shapes.

Then, I was asked to introduce myself, followed by questions about my professional skills at my current company and why I left my last company.

Another interviewer was a hardware engineer, who also briefly asked about what I had worked with before and briefly explained the maintenance duties required by their company. Then the information department head asked about my ideal job. They did not mention the benefits or employment conditions. The work environment was extremely poor.

Overall, the interview took a little over an hour. After I completed the applicant résumé form, I also had to call in before the HR staff member would come down to collect it.

1. When the first thing a company brings up is body shape, that is body-shape discrimination. Do weight and body shape have anything to do with professional skills and work attitude?

Moreover, the HR manager did not explain the company’s benefits or working hours.

Also, the information department head gave the impression of being very condescending.

Even though this is Asia Cement, the parent company under the Far Eastern Group, the HR staff did not explain basic information such as the company’s benefits and working hours.
