Pros

Can you be a wage thief without any trouble?

1. NT$28,000 during the probationary period; monthly salary of NT$30,000

(Including a perfect-attendance bonus of NT$1,000, which is deducted if you take personal leave during the month)

2. The company provides labor and health insurance; the employee-paid portion is deducted from the monthly salary

3. Performance bonus: NT$2,000–3,000 when I was employed

(The company distributes it at its discretion)

4. Eight days off per month (including Sundays and store holidays)

5. Working hours: 10:00–19:00

(One-hour lunch break; a 20-minute afternoon break at your own discretion—in practice, there is not much time to rest)

6. Up to three instances per month of being 10 minutes late

Cons

The company has zero systems in place

Whenever employees offer any opinions to the company, suggestions are simply brushed aside with placating responses. They have never made up their minds to implement anything. When I was employed, my assessment of the company was that it offered no opportunities for growth or learning value; every day was about “getting by” and completing tasks in a way that only “treats the symptoms, not the root cause.”

You need to take on multiple roles

I applied for a position as an online graphic designer, but I had to handle video production from filming through editing, as well as product images for dozens of the company’s e-commerce platforms. On top of that, I also had to “assist” with the monthly reconciliation of the e-commerce platforms and everything involved in processing e-commerce orders (retrieving orders, contacting customers, packing goods, and so on). Of course, there were even more company matters; anything unrelated to my own job would turn from “assistance” into an “obvious routine responsibility.”

High employee turnover

I was the last person in the department to resign. My colleagues carried heavier work responsibilities than I did. Every day, they faced baseless scolding or nagging from their supervisor, work schedules with no planning whatsoever, and being forced to accept orders even when the supply was unstable, which often left them subjected to customers’ sarcastic remarks. I think that kind of pressure is unimaginable.

The supervisor does not know how to manage people

The supervisor has absolutely no eye for recognizing talent and no ability to manage personnel. They always think they have excellent logical thinking, but in reality, no one understands what they are thinking. In addition, their tone of voice is unpleasant. They often say things like, “This is really simple…” and “Do you understand my… logic?” Despite having no practical experience whatsoever, I truly do not understand what gives them the right to say these things.
