HR informed me to bring a photo ID to exchange for a visitor badge upon entering the factory. The security guard, an older man wearing sunglasses and looking quite stylish, asked me to spray alcohol on my hands, take my temperature, and fill in the entry time, name, phone number, and purpose of visit;
The security guard called to notify the interviewee of the visit. I did not know that I had to exchange for a badge, so he reminded me to get a visitor badge afterward and pointed toward the second floor through the small door of the building;
After entering the office on the second floor, I found an open-plan OA office environment. Only the cleaning auntie acknowledged me. HR invited me to a small round table nearby to first fill out the standard résumé form. After I finished, the same auntie helped call someone over;
An employee from a certain department came to conduct the interview and kept talking about the machinery. They asked about my experience and work history and requested that I tour the factory area. The factory had a high corrugated-metal ceiling and two large machines, with robotic arms assisting in loading and unloading. They asked whether I knew how to inspect CNC machine molds and work orders. Back in the office, they said the monthly salary was NT$35,000, and that even though I was not from a related field and had no experience—the CNC work I had done previously was different—they asked whether I was interested in the job.
(I was clearly applying for position A, but they kept talking to me about position B.....)
I asked about the other vacancies. The job bank listing showed a total of four vacancies, but they replied that this was a management issue for HR and that the only opening at the moment was this CNC position.
This is a classic bait-and-switch, forcing you into a job you never applied for. The whole trip was just a waste of time...
