Pros

The boss was very NICE during the interview, but....

My impression of the colleagues was also very good, but...

Cons

Putting aside why the product images have a strange background pattern—perhaps it’s just a special preference.

And putting aside the fact that there were only 7 colleagues when I joined, along with the pile of company regulations you had to sign (from May or June 2021 to July 2022),

which were filled with names (more than 50 in total), almost like ancestral tablets, telling you that nearly 40 people could leave this company within a year.

One of the current employees had only just joined a month earlier, and hadn’t even had time to warm their chair.

No one handed over the duties. As soon as you join, the boss only tells you that you need results. The only direction is “be as big as Nestlé, results, results, results.”

When discussing how to do things with the boss, he only says: “You’re getting too detailed. I want results, results, results.”

When raising questions with the boss, there is absolutely no direction or answer.

Just asking about the previous advertising spend (only NT$10,000 a month) made the boss feel that you were insulting him.

“Don’t think you were that professional before. Once you come here, you’re my employee. Are you asking those questions to show how professional you are and belittle me?”

In just half a day, I experienced the boss’s godlike admonishment. Truly unforgettable.

What the boss wants is someone who doesn’t speak, has no opinions, and treats him as the one and only god.

What the boss wants is someone who, no matter how professional they are, lets his opinions override everything.

What the boss wants is someone who does not communicate with other colleagues and forms a team alone.

What the boss wants is someone who can endure unreasonable abuse and disrespect for their professional expertise.

I don’t know whether what he wants is a “person.” At the time, I only felt that in his eyes, I was a dog lured in by a salary.

Thank you, boss, for trampling on my professional expertise, destroying my expectations, spitting on my dignity, and wasting my time.

And I, after only half a day, chose to turn myself into one of the many names on those ancestral tablets, in gratitude for the opportunity that the boss gave me by hiring me.

My only regret is that, unfortunately, I didn’t get to experience what so many predecessors had described....

The exhilaration of being fired by the boss for no reason.
