I’ve worked here for three years, but I’m leaving.

The only advantage is that the boss’s mother cooks for everyone, which saves quite a bit on meals.

My job title: Store Service Staff

The company only gives four days off per month, and taking Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays off is prohibited.

There is no labor or health insurance; they will ask you to enroll in a trade union insurance plan yourself.

Also, the actual job duties involve quite a lot. This is not simply a store position focused on sales and serving customers.

The duties include packaging cakes and cookies, folding boxes, serving customers, and sometimes even helping the bakers with their work... Or the boss’s father will call for someone to help in a disrespectful way, like calling a dog (for example, when they were selling lychees before).

The store’s working environment is also poor. The place where cakes are packaged is located by the entrance, and customers often say there are hygiene concerns, but the boss has been unable to improve the situation for a long time.

Since this is a family-run business, I really recommend that everyone think twice before joining 🙏

The reasons I resigned:

1. The other service employee at the store bullied me, and this was not the first time she had bullied someone else.

You may wonder why she is still allowed to stay. It is because she is dating the boss and has special privileges.

She is extremely petty, selfish, greedy, lazy, and very snobbish.

At first, she disguised herself very well. I endured it for two years and finally chose to resign because I really couldn’t take it anymore.

There is overtime pay, but she would still interfere when I worked overtime, and even give people dirty looks, making the work atmosphere tense. What business is it of hers?

The person who pays the salaries is the boss’s mother, who is also the current owner’s wife.

While working, she would occasionally take out her phone and scroll through it, then complain that she couldn’t finish her work... (I was the one doing more of the work most of the time 🥲)

I don’t like arguing, so I kept putting up with it. It was only after this round of relationship-based bullying and cyberbullying that I decided to resign.

Being diagnosed with an illness and getting into a car accident were both things I did not choose, yet she quibbled over my leave and whether the boss would pay me, and even posted attacks against me online.

I have already informed the boss about this, but he simply believes that she will change. In that case, all I can do is wish him well.

2. The boss’s father is very bossy and insists that everything be done according to his own ideas.

However, the boss and the owner’s wife think differently from him, which often puts employees in a difficult position. No matter what you do, you get criticized.

He barely follows government regulations, such as requiring people to scan the QR code for the contact-tracing system and wear their masks properly.

There was even one time when he angrily berated me just because I asked a customer to scan the contact-tracing QR code, because he thought it was unnecessary.

The pandemic was extremely serious at the time, which showed that he simply did not care about epidemic prevention.

3. The boss makes grand promises, but has never once followed through.

I was there for three years. He said he would improve the working environment, establish systems, and, this time, have the colleague who bullied three people leave. None of these things ever happened.

He says employees cannot take Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays off, but that is only because the boss himself wants to go out and have fun, so the employees are not allowed to take time off~

If the boss had really replaced the bully this time, I would not have wanted to post this.

Even if any new person comes to apply, sooner or later they will be bullied just like I was. It’s better not to come.

I absolutely have not exaggerated any of these facts.

After enduring everything for three years, even being excluded and bullied, the boss still had no intention of dealing with it.

Honestly, if you can avoid staying at this kind of company, don’t stay.

If you really want to come, you need to have a strong mind and a strong body 😂

After all, that’s how family businesses are. Besides, for such a small place to have so many problems, I’m honestly speechless.
