The interview lacked professionalism. The interviewer first emphasized that they were from another department and had only been assigned to interview employees. They could not clearly explain even basic matters, responded “I don’t know” to every question, yet casually made promises about the terms. When asked what items needed to be prepared for onboarding, they also failed to explain clearly. On the day I was supposed to report for work, even the supervisor did not know that a new employee was coming, and the accounting department was unaware as well. When I called to ask the interviewer, they only shifted responsibility and evaded the main issues. The company’s internal handover procedures clearly have problems even with basic matters.
When I asked the manager about the details of the job and the items I needed to prepare, they still did not explain clearly. The other employees also acted as though it had nothing to do with them. As a new employee, I was simply left there. The onboarding procedures that should have been completed on the first day were not carried out until the second day. Only then did they say that I had to provide a household registration transcript, a personal seal, guarantor information, and so on. I have worked for many years and have never had to provide a household registration transcript or personal seal. Since the company does not hold financial assets, I also did not understand why a guarantor was needed. When I asked for the reason, the response was vague and evasive. They only said, after I asked, that the seal was for tax filing; nothing was explained clearly. Meanwhile, the company’s older female employee kept urging me to quickly submit all these documents. “Your life is worthless anyway, and you might not live another 20 years, so of course it doesn’t matter to you.” But as a young person, what kind of impact could handing over these things have on me? At that point, I informed the company that it was not suitable for me.
Before applying, simply looking up the company’s reviews, news, and legal cases would have revealed its reputation. I was not cautious enough at the time and failed to check, which caused me to waste more time.
