I worked there for some time and recently left. When I was looking for a job, I saw reviews of my former employer and decided to share my experience of working there.
.
I joined when the company was located in Taipei City. Later, due to insufficient warehouse space, the company decided to relocate to Zhonghe, New Taipei City. It is accessible by MRT, so the commute takes a little longer, but the company provides a transportation allowance to help with this.
At my previous company, missing one MRT train meant I would probably lose my perfect-attendance bonus. Here, however, there is a 30-minute grace period, so there is still plenty of time to buy a cup of coffee before heading upstairs.
Working in the pet industry, I can immediately take leave to handle situations involving my dogs or cats. If they need close care, I can also bring them to work, as long as they do not disturb others. Some dogs are very sensitive and may suddenly bark, which can really startle people… There is often a small yellow Maine Coon cat casually roaming around the office. It is incredibly cool.
Pet exhibitions may involve staying overnight in another county or city, but all of this was explained during the interview. We were also told that days off might need to be adjusted forward or backward, seemingly because regulations limit the number of consecutive days one can work.
The workload varies. When things get busy, there may be occasions when you leave work late. Overtime must be applied for, and you can also apply for a dinner allowance at the same time. However, overtime opportunities are rare, because if you tell your supervisor that you cannot finish the work, they will help adjust the order of priorities.
There are not many supervisors. If you have questions about your work, everyone on the team is happy to help. If you do not understand an assignment given by your supervisor, you must ask proactively. It is best to confirm along the way that you are heading in the right direction. Once, I misunderstood the instructions and had to start the whole thing over from scratch.
1. There are very few places to eat near the company.
2. There is a lot of product knowledge and dog and cat care knowledge to memorize.
