I joined during the pandemic.
The separation system seems pretty good.
The field staff and office staff are in different buildings.
Although there currently aren't many people in the office where I work,
the atmosphere still feels fairly relaxed and pleasant.
Because the person who was originally supposed to train me is currently working from home,
a junior manager is training me instead.
She has continually served as a bridge between me and the field staff I have never met in person,
and she patiently answers my silly questions as someone new to this industry.
I’m truly, truly grateful to her!
The situation for new employees is awkward.
Before the junior manager finished working from home and took over,
I was quietly figuring things out on my own by reading the new employee orientation materials and learning the system.
Although there was nothing anyone could do because there was no one around,
there was no one to ask, so I never really figured things out.
When the time came, I would quietly leave work.
Maybe it’s because my previous job was in traditional manufacturing.
Even though I felt that this unusual period should be understandable,
I was still extremely afraid that people from other departments would misunderstand me.
