The colleagues are all nice.
After working at the Talent Development Innovation Center for some time, I would like to share some situations and rules with everyone:
1. The turnover rate is extremely high.
2. For business trips, expenses within 5 kilometers cannot be reimbursed. Other transportation expenses are reimbursed based on the number of kilometers multiplied by $2.5, regardless of how you get there. This is different from the usual practice at most companies, where expenses are reimbursed based on receipts.
3. When clocking out, you must do so within 20 minutes after completing 8 hours of work. For example, if you clock in at 8:00, you must clock out by 17:20. If you go over, you have to submit an exception form, and there is a limit of two exception forms per month.
4. Timekeeping is done by logging into the system on a computer to clock in and out—you also have to start up the computer. I found this method of timekeeping a little difficult to get used to.
5. To receive your salary each month, you must complete a time and attendance report. This includes an overtime pay claim form, a business travel expense application, an attendance record, a holiday overtime approval application, and so on. The most time-consuming part is taking screenshots from Google Maps for every business trip, recording them in a Word document, and providing them as evidence for the number of kilometers.
6. If you report 8 hours of business travel, you cannot clock in or out that day. If you accidentally clock in or out, you still have to submit an exception form.
7. On weekdays, the first two hours of overtime can be converted into pay, while the third hour can only be exchanged for compensatory leave. Overtime on holidays can only be exchanged for compensatory leave. At the end of the year, any remaining balance can be converted into pay.
8. Leave must be requested at least three days in advance. Requesting leave one or two days in advance is considered temporary leave and will draw attention.
9. The work attire requires a shirt and dark-colored pants. Cloth shoes are not allowed, but you can bring your own indoor slippers to change into.
There are many other rules and systems like these. Everything must be done according to the rules, and there is almost no flexibility, whether in terms of procedures or work content. Any correction, even to a typo or missing character, requires a signature, so you must be extremely meticulous. People who enjoy taking on new challenges, have strong ideas of their own, or tend to be casual and overlook details may not be a good fit here.
