Asked whether I understood the job responsibilities.
During the interview, the company provided documents about its culture and the job responsibilities, then asked whether I had any questions about the content.
The interview team and HR were extremely unprofessional. My previous company was quite well-known, and the other companies I interviewed with were also widely recognized.
Immediately after the interview, HR threatened me: if I was not accepted, I should not post about it online. I later learned that this female HR representative was very unpopular.
Because of my impressive résumé, a manager from the operations department was interested in transferring me to an interview for that department.
The subsequent interviews continued to be conducted by the same female HR representative, who kept assuming that I was overly nervous, when in fact my eyes were simply irritated by my contact lenses. While waiting for another manager, she suddenly asked me to introduce myself in English. After I finished, she directly asked me to leave through the company’s front door. The process was extremely uncomfortable and rude; I felt as though I had been driven out. She then warned me in a threatening tone: “If you are not accepted, do not spread comments harmful to the company.”
This HR representative did not understand the game industry and was also unclear about the scale of my previous company. She acted arbitrarily, assuming there was something wrong with the interviewee, and did not understand why I could not disclose too much internal information when the game had just been released. I observe the ethical and legal responsibilities expected of a former employee toward my previous company. That company is very traditional. The entire interview form and HR interview were focused on finding out the salary structures of other companies, reflecting a very traditional local corporate culture. This HR representative directly rejected me on behalf of the company and arbitrarily prevented me from interviewing with the next manager. With such a problematic gatekeeper, I believe it would also be difficult for the company to assemble its development team.
Unfortunately, I encountered this female HR representative. Essentially, the entire experience came down to luck. I later asked employees at the company and confirmed that she had a notorious reputation.
She made arbitrary judgments and made it difficult to adjust the interview process. The position was clearly only for customer service, while other departments were interested in inviting me. I do not know whether she was overly jealous of me or what… This was the worst interview experience I have ever had. Recently, someone asked me about it, which brought back this extremely uncomfortable past.
