I didn’t apply for the position; they proactively invited me to an interview, so I thought I’d go and see what it was like. There was no holiday bonus for the Dragon Boat Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival, and no year-end bonus—might as well be doing charity, so I let that slide. But having no overtime pay is an open violation of the Labor Standards Act. The interviewer even said matter-of-factly that she had worked there for 20 years and never received any, as if to say, “You don’t want to accept it, but normal people do, aunty!”

And the most outrageous part was that she said I couldn’t change my mind after being hired, or she would get angry. She agreed to give me a week to consider, but after I found a better job and politely declined, she immediately resorted to underhanded tactics and reported me to 1111 for unjustified absence from work??? It hadn’t even been a week, and I hadn’t even started—what happened to the promised consideration period? If you want to make it impossible for me to find a job, you don’t have to be so malicious! If it weren’t for her laziness in failing to issue a written offer, I would never have been able to clear my name. I called 1111 to complain and found out this was not the first time. After verifying the case, customer service immediately removed the violation record from my account. And they call themselves Japanese company Honda—what an absolutely terrible company. I recommend skipping even the interview and not wasting your time going!
