Pros

Interview

1. I had preferred industries in mind when looking for a job, but whether I got an interview opportunity or joined a particular company depended on fate.

2. In any case, I went to interviews without preconceived notions and with an open mind.

3. After talking with the supervisor at a factory located in an industrial park, I decided to give it a try.

Work

My direct supervisor looked after the situation of the team, was willing to spend time explaining things and sharing valuable experience, and also tried to help resolve difficulties. They did not simply leave me to deal with things after assigning work. I am very grateful.

Cons

There was no absolute right or wrong, good or bad, about my previous company or the work content. The following are not shortcomings, but merely my personal experiences for reference.

1. The company was reportedly preparing for an IPO, but had no CFO or department head in place, and no administrative system. There may have been a financial system, but my work did not use it at all.

2. The office had few departments and staff, and the atmosphere… is hard to describe. There were only three senior employees: No. 1 (a big shot), No. 2 (a notable person), and No. 3 (someone who considered themselves a notable person). When I joined, the remaining employees had generally been with the company for less than a year.

3. Basically, I made an effort to arrive and leave work on time. On a few occasions, when I stayed late to tidy my desk, I noticed that people behind me had clearly finished packing up but stood at their seats watching me leave the office while sending messages on their phones. One day, we happened to be preparing to leave at the same time, but I suddenly decided to go to the restroom. Although the other person was clearly in a hurry to leave, they stayed there until I returned and then left behind me. The first time, I asked why they did not leave work first, but they looked embarrassed and did not respond. The second time, I deliberately asked whether they could leave first without waiting for me, and discovered that they were using LINE to report my movements to someone. Although I have nothing to hide, I felt that this was not a suitable place to stay for long.

4. This was my first time working in a factory environment, and only after joining did I realize how important restroom facilities are. To be clear, the company did not restrict restroom use! I simply personally like to drink water, and getting to the restroom required going up and down stairs. I was not used to the gender-neutral restroom, while the women’s restroom was far away and had other issues. Brushing my teeth was inconvenient, and it was even more inconvenient during my period. Gradually, I began using the restroom only once a day, and my body started developing some problems.

5. After developing unusual physical symptoms, I decided to resign. Person No. 2, my direct supervisor, and others politely offered their best wishes, but No. 3 revealed their true nature, character, and conduct during the handover.

6. In summary, I did not resign because of my work abilities or the work content.

7. Only after reporting to my new company did I learn that it was preparing for an IPO. Its finance team structure and departments were complete, and its internal systems, ERP system, employee management, administrative procedures, monthly planning, and other SOPs were all geared toward the IPO. So, what about my previous company…? I also reflected on why employees at the previous company did not stay long, and why the number of open positions has continued to increase since I left.
