Coming back to leave a comment several years after leaving—there probably aren't any advantages. It would be best if the company went out of business.
1. A typical exploitative boss who loses control of her emotions and berates an employee every day. She is rapidly being left behind by the times and is not very good at using computers, but she blames the employees first whenever something happens. No matter what happens, it is always their fault.
2. The boss once used Google Translate to check a translation and said that the Japanese translation of the Japanese was wrong.
3. Because no one wants to be berated by the boss, employees take screenshots of each other's conversations and betray one another. Some employees from other countries had also harbored resentment for a long time and did things harmful to the company after resigning.
4. No overtime pay, but there is so much work that it is difficult not to work overtime.
5. The environment is dirty and messy, and no one takes the initiative to sweep the floor. Cockroaches appear.
6. Manager Qiao-Yu Wang is the kind of person who says one thing to one person and another thing to another, always selling out others to protect herself. Because the boss often scolds her, she is emotionally unstable as well. Like the boss, she is somewhat conceited, but she does not seem to have worked at a large-scale company, so she has no systematic way of thinking. She always uses very stupid methods to do things, then says others are wrong and rolls her eyes, unaware that she is the stupid one.
7. When the computer breaks, there is no way to get it repaired. If you suggest having it fixed, she says, “This was lent to us by my friend’s company—how can we ask my friend to do work for us?”
8. The boss handles business herself and never shares any information brought back from clients. She only tells employees to do things and tells them to follow up on their own. But without knowing the background or context, anything you ask is considered wrong. If you proactively ask the boss, you will definitely be scolded; if you ask the client, you will also definitely be scolded. It is extremely difficult and bewildering to get anything done.
9. It is a family business (although it has fewer than 10 employees), and people are wary of saying too much because they are afraid of whose relative someone might be.
10. Employees were forced to use fake Photoshop certification certificates to deceive clients. We also often had to lie to shift responsibility, so clients did not really trust the company.
11. The boss has bizarre ideas and believes that people who get COVID-19 die because their bodies are inherently weak. After returning from abroad, she even wanted to evade quarantine.
12. The boss is always rushing about something, thinking everything is simple, without realizing that she cannot do it herself either. She is so impatient that it seems as if she wants to get into the coffin sooner, arousing the resentment of business partners and employees. But because of her aggressive presence, no one dares oppose her.
13. She once lost control of her emotions and screamed into the phone while throwing things around the office. At the time, I was already too tired to deal with her and left the phone on the desk, but she still had to make sure I was listening to her lose control.
14. Before work and during lunch breaks, the boss calls and tells you to do things immediately, making it difficult to have an uninterrupted lunch break.
15. The boss has poor communication skills and sometimes explains things unclearly. Asking questions will get you scolded; it is really her own problem.
16. Unless she is in a good mood, the boss scolds people. Everyone gets very nervous when talking to her.
17. Because of excessive stress, my cold did not get better for two full months. She would become upset if someone took two consecutive days off.
18. She attempted to underreport employees' wages for labor and health insurance, which is illegal.
19. It is a small company with fewer than 10 employees, yet information is not shared. We cannot clearly answer clients' questions, there is no group chat, and we have to repeat the same things every day.
20. Employees were forced to say, “I am Chinese.”
21. She has her own logic and believes she is always right, refusing to accept any other viewpoints.
22. Even the Japanese teacher from Indonesia was constantly interrupted while teaching and told to do administrative work, showing just how disrespectful she is toward employees.
This company really was my nightmare... Even several years after leaving, I am still furious. I hope no one else will be victimized.
