Pros

1. The individual workstations are fairly spacious, the overall environment is clean, and transportation is convenient.

2. There is a small monthly budget for purchasing snacks, and free coffee is occasionally provided.

3. You can listen to music (although senior colleagues will look askance at it).

4. There is a chance to receive project bonuses, but the amount is NT$500 per occasion.

5. There is no overtime, but there is also no overtime pay.

Cons

1. Company atmosphere:

(1) The atmosphere within the company is old-fashioned and outdated, and it is unwilling to accept new systems. Whenever a problem arises with a product, everyone passes the buck to one another—a whole group of people kicking the ball around, having a great time.

(2) The company only values sales performance and does not pay much attention to other departments. It also has no Human Resources department (HR) or Quality Control department (QC TEAM), resulting in very low R&D funding, little improvement in factory production, and numerous problems concerning employees' onboarding, departures, and salaries.

(3) Employees are not valued, and internal turnover is extremely high.

2. Atmosphere in the Product Design Department:

(1) A senior colleague surnamed Lin likes to micromanage many matters beyond the scope of their own projects. If you disagree with their opinions, they repeatedly make emotionally manipulative remarks such as "not creative enough," "not clear and comprehensive enough," and "show some persistence as a designer," while being unable to explain how the product should actually be revised;

Their hygiene habits are also poor: miscellaneous items are left scattered around, yet they impose high standards on others regarding environmental cleanliness;

In addition, they occasionally instruct me to handle miscellaneous tasks unrelated to my work (moving things, taking things apart, and so on).

(2) The supervisor (CEO) has no background in industrial design or product management and acts solely on intuition. They have also picked up bad habits from the aforementioned senior colleague and use various emotionally manipulative remarks as well. For every project, they demand the highest-quality planning while requiring costs to be kept as low as possible, resulting in project outcomes that fall short of expectations. I frequently have to negotiate prices between the supervisor and vendors, leaving me caught in the middle.

(3) There is no product manager, procurement department, or CMF department, so this position (Product Designer) has to handle everything. Occasionally, I also have to deal with UI/UX, interior design, and other matters.

3. Other: Illegal matters

(1) Internal resources: The company has no properly licensed software; the Adobe graphics software and 3D modeling software are all pirated.

(2) Salary growth: Raises are slow. After working for more than a year, I received only a NT$1,000 raise. The listing on 104 stated that there were bonuses for the three major holidays, but in reality there were none. In addition, project bonuses are rarely paid, and even when they are, the amount is only NT$500.

(3) Salary and benefits: The company uses a base salary plus various additional payments under different names, so year-end bonuses are also calculated based on the base salary. Furthermore, the salary for the month of resignation is calculated by dividing the base salary by the number of days in that month, rather than based on the regular recurring compensation.
