Pros

I was very excited before the interview.

Cons

If you interview with Chien-Yuan Technology, think carefully about the interviewer's answers during the interview.

The company had been operating for 20 years as of 2022 (please check with the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs).

Before going to the interview, I saw that the company was located in an impressive commercial office building. When I reached the floor where it was located, the company's stainless-steel door was closed.

During the interview, I learned that the entire company had approximately 10 employees.

I interviewed there recently. Below are only some of the questions I asked and the female interviewer's answers.

Me: Once I start working, what tasks or projects must be completed within the first year? What would be the most difficult parts? What resources would be available?

Her: All projects; there are no particular difficulties. As for resources, all colleagues can be asked.

I specifically confirmed this twice, and she gave the same answer. Since I started interviewing, this was the first time an interviewer had answered this way.

Me: I'd like to understand why you chose to work here.

Her: For personal reasons that are inconvenient to discuss —> because it's close to home.

She felt that my question was inappropriate because I was probing into her privacy. I said that I was not probing into her privacy; I wanted to understand what advantages or benefits the company offered that made her choose to work at Chien-Yuan when she had received offers from other companies. She also seemed confused: she first said it was for personal reasons. I did not press her, but later she said, “Because it's close to home.” Being close to home is also a reason, so why was it inconvenient to say? However, she did not seem to understand the company's distinctive features. As for the other reasons, everyone can think about them for themselves.

Me: She introduced the company's projects and mentioned its current clients.

Her: TSMC and government agencies.

I asked, “Is TSMC the only private-sector client?” She replied, “Yes.” Then I asked, “Approximately how many government agencies are there?” She actually replied that it was inconvenient to provide that information.

She later sent me a rejection notice. However, I found that the reply in this letter had been written very casually.
