During the interview, the department manager, Ms. Lin, spoke in an interrogative tone the whole time. She kept asking me to tell her the companies and names of my clients, which was very strange. She also kept questioning whether I knew anyone at the associate-manager level or above. I really didn’t understand the purpose. From beginning to end, she never mentioned the company’s products, systems, or competitiveness, nor was she curious about my personal experience; she just kept trying to fish for my client information. She even asked what I would say if I encountered a very difficult-to-schedule client at a hypermarket. I said I would simply introduce myself and maintain the relationship through everyday conversation, then visit if there was an opportunity. She replied, “That’s it? What if the client tells you to find an engineer and walks away?”

I replied, “Am I supposed to cling to them and not let go? When clients are off work, they’re off work—you have to respect other people. Besides, being given an engineer as a point of contact would be great.”

In the end, she said I lacked semiconductor experience. I still wanted to ask how she had managed to get this far—＝＝She had no professionalism at all and didn’t respect people.
