If you want to interview for a PM engineer position at this company, please read on.
If you don't want to waste your time, please read the cons first…
For details, please refer to the cons section.
The interview process included a personality test, an intelligence test, and an English test.
Throughout the process, the interviewers' attitude toward the interviewee was generally good.
The downside was the salary negotiation process. Because my English ability is relatively weak, but I also have five years of PM-related experience, the hiring manager explained that they could only offer me an assistant PM engineer position, with a salary lower than my expected salary.
Okay, I accepted all of this, and the manager also confirmed with his boss that the employment salary would be 41K. At the time, I even said that the salary was very low. However, I also explained to the hiring manager that they could go ahead and process my application first, as I was still willing to take the position.
A week later, on Tuesday, the HR department called to say that the process had already been initiated, but the salary that HR had verified for me would be 35K, increasing to 37K after the probationary period…
When I heard over the phone that this salary did not match what had been discussed in the interview, I immediately raised the issue with HR. They even asked me, “So, would you still consider taking the position under these salary conditions?” (Obviously not—who would want to?! )
Conclusion: Based on this interview experience, I only want to share this with job seekers who are considering interviewing for a PM position: Don't waste your time at this company. Salary negotiations are not like buying vegetables at a market; everything discussed during the interview is important. If the company cannot even honor those commitments, it will not take very good care of its employees.
