The reason you need to bring your own laptop is that projects do not last very long, so the company you are assigned to will not prepare a machine for you. You can tell from that sentence alone how terrible a company that takes on contracts as a subcontractor can be. What's more, this company seems particularly good at collecting backup candidates everywhere, so after the interview, do they just ghost you?
In the end, can they just claim that the client did not want a useless person like you?
If you're going to work for that kind of subcontracting company, wouldn't it be better to go somewhere like Lite-On or MiTAC, where there are at least better benefits and job security?
